Good news, the developers of Baldur's Gate 3 have unveiled the release window of the next big patch for the game. And they even unveiled some of the changes to come.
We no longer present Baldur's Gate 3, one of the biggest releases of the year. The RPG has been such a hit that it even garnered eight nominations at the 2023 Game Awards. Is it going to be the Game of the Year? It remains to be seen, but in the meantime, Larian is taking good care of him, and he's fine-tuning him. By the way, the studio will soon deploy a huge update for the game that promises to bring a lot of changes to the adventure. The exit window was just announced, but not that.
The new update 5 of Baldur's Gate 3 is coming
Generally speaking, Baldur's Gate 3 has two types of updates: hotfixes and patches. The hotfixes are modest, and mostly take care of small recalcitrant bugs that linger here and there. Patches, on the other hand, are different, because they are simply massive. To give you an idea, the latest one brought over 1000 changes to the game. Yes, 1,000, and that's not an exaggeration. We found, for example, the addition of the Daltonian mode or the possibility of using sponges and soaps to clean one's companions.
So you can see why Baldur's Gate 3 players are eagerly waiting for the fifth patch. And good news, the studio has announced that it will arrive within a week, without further details. Be prepared to face a very different title once it is deployed, or at least a refined software. At the moment, we don't know the extent of the update, but we did get a little teasing. Indeed, the firm offered us an overview of the tweaks that will be added.
First of all, it's the Astarion fans who will be happy. For good reason, the problem that affected the animations of kisses with him will officially disappear. Then, patches will be added in response to bugs that appeared with patch 4 of Baldur's Gate 3. The latter caused delays in certain cases of theft or violence. That's pretty much all we can say at the moment. We'll know more later this week.

This patch 5 will be the perfect opportunity to start the RPG, if you haven't already done so. If you are still hesitating, then we advise you to wait for the release of the physical Deluxe Edition of Baldur's Gate 3 before making the move. It will arrive by the first quarter of 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, with a digital version available in December. The exact date will fall at the 2023 Game Awards, which is a good excuse to watch the ceremony. As a reminder, here is all that is included in it:

Pre-orders are on sale, but beware of scammers who already sell them twice or even triple the price on sites like eBay. Especially since it's not a limited edition, as Larian Studios reminded us recently: "Just for your information, the Deluxe Edition is not limited and stocks are stable. In addition, further waves of pre-orders are already planned. So if you see that it is being resold for more than it should be, don't be careful."
